MINNEAPOLIS / ST. PAUL 10/04/2011) —The University of Minnesota is mourning the loss of Professor Judith Martin, who passed away early Monday morning at the age of 63 of complications related to breast cancer.
Martin, a professor of geography specializing in urban studies, was an exemplar of the passionately engaged academic. Her many leadership roles spanned campus and community and included significant contributions to the University's public engagement agenda and to urban and metropolitan initiatives coordinated by the Office of Academic Administration, University of Minnesota System.
Plans are being made by her family and friends for a celebration of her life:
2 p.m. October 30 at the Nicollet Island Pavilion, Minneapolis.
