The Mid-Central Research and Outreach Center (MCROC) in Willmar, MN, is an innovative University of Minnesota hub for biosciences research, technology transfer, and business innovation.
The center, which opened in spring 2012, will be a model for public-private research partnerships and will focus on serving the growing agricultural and biotechnology industries in central and west-central Minnesota. The center will serve the citizens of central Minnesota through basic and applied research, outreach, and engagement geared especially to the poultry, renewable energy, and technology industries. The MCROC, part of the MinnWest Technology campus, also will serve as a regional center for continuing education and distance learning, internships, and workforce preparation, facilitating the coordination of many University programs.
