Distributed Education & Instructional Technology

The Office of the Vice Provost for Distributed Education and Instructional Technology supports the University’s goal of becoming one of the top three public research institutions in the world by promoting the strategic use of e-learning technology to improve teaching and learning system-wide. The overall goal of all work in e-learning is improved learning outcomes — recruiting, retaining, educating, and graduating students who have the very best educational experiences at the University of Minnesota, whether they attend class online, on campus, or on-site.

Major areas of the Office of the Vice Provost for Distributed Education and Instructional Technology include: Digital Campus, myU Portal / Learning Platform, Minnesota Learning Commons, iTunes U, Quality Matters, CENTSS, Equella (learning object repository), Workforce Investment Act program approval coordination, National Repository for Online Courses, and U.Select transfer referral.
