The McKnight Arts and Humanities Endowment was established in 1991 to support arts and humanities research and activities. Summer fellowships, research grants and international travel grants are available for tenured and tenure-track faculty. The endowment also helps fund special events and initiatives in the arts and humanities.
This award program was established to encourage and support research by minority faculty and to promote research on issues related to people of color. All University faculty members who hold tenured or tenure-track appointments and whose scholarly research will focus on issues related to people of color are eligible to apply. A major goal of the program is to enhance retention of a diverse faculty. Junior faculty of color, especially those who are in units or working on topics where research support traditionally has been difficult to obtain, are encouraged to apply for the award. This program is administered under the Office of the Senior Vice President for System Administration.
