The Office of Planning was established in 2004 to provide support to the Senior Vice President for System Academic Administration as well as other senior leaders. The associate vice president promotes and supports system-wide academic capital planning, institutional research, and space management in all colleges and coordinate campuses of the University of Minnesota. The office provides key leadership for space management processes—utilization, inventory, and reassignment. Additionally, the office leads efforts to collect, analyze, and ensure the integrity of data needed by University decision-makers.
