Description: IDEA Grant awarded to produce Daak, Call To Action, a community building and performance project, which will be performed at two theaters in June. Dakk, Call To Action is a community based project bringing together social justice work and academic excellence around issues of land rights, and environmental degradation. Project participants are a diverse group women and girls of color that includes faculty, staff and students from the University.
Project/Program Title: Portraits of the Institute of Technology Women Faculty

Description: IDEA Grant will fund Nancy Johnson’s portrait work with women faculty in the Institute of Technology. Ms. Johnson created black and white photographic portraits of women faculty in Mechanical Engineering that were displayed at the show, “Women’s Work” at the Phibbs Center for the Arts in 2006. Ms. Johnson will continue this project to include all women faculty in IT in the coming year, and may include an exhibition on the Twin Cities Campus.
