Welcome to the 2005-2006 Self-Study Report

This web-enabled version of Transforming the University Through Strategic Planning and Action is an online reference tool for the self-study report of the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus.  This report has been prepared for the 2005-06 comprehensive evaluation of the campus by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

This online tool features not only the content of the printed version of the self-study report but also interactive links to additional narrative, reference documents, and graphical data. In addition, the tool serves as a comprehensive online reference to numerous University of Minnesota websites.

How to Navigate the Report

The online report can be navigated in three ways. Please select one of these options to proceed:

1. Table of Contents:  The Table of Contents appears continuously on the left side of each page.  Click on a section of the report to go there.
2. Topical Index:  An alphabetical index of key topics is available from a drop-down menu at the bottom of each page.  Click on the key topic to find its location(s) in the report.
3. Accreditation Criteria:  A location guide to evidence supporting each Higher Learning Commission criterion and its core components is available from a drop-down menu at the bottom of each page.  Click on the appropriate criterion to find the evidence supporting it in the report.

Key to Hyperlinks

There are four types of color-coded hyperlinks that will open new browser windows with additional information:

green hyperlinks: These links open graphs or other figures with additional data. Click on the "close window" link after you read each one.

red hyperlinks: These links explain terms in the report. Click on the "close window" link after you read each one.

blue hyperlinks: These links refer to HLC criteria. Click on the "close window" link after you read each one.

maroon hyperlinks: These links open related web sites. To close these, you must use the Close Window command in your browser’s File menu.

All other links in this online tool (e.g. hyperlink) allow you to navigate within the self-study tool itself.
